PP - YEAR 6 CHINESE (MANDARIN) TEACHER

FULL-TIME (1.0 FTE), PERMANENT

COMMENCING JANUARY 2020

 

We are seeking a registered teacher with sound pedagogical knowledge and skill, to teach Chinese (Mandarin) Language in our Secondary School (years PP to 6). This is a full-time position, commencing in January 2020. There is a responsibility for planning relevant and engaging learning experiences, demonstrating a high level of curriculum knowledge, using appropriate assessment tools and recording student progress through the School’s online management system (SEQTA). The position requires applicants to also have the ability to develop inclusive learning environments, foster positive relationships and to communicate with staff, students and parents in a timely and respectful manner. It is expected that the successful applicant will attend staff meetings, curriculum evenings and parent teacher interviews.

 

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

 

  • Have a teaching degree and be qualified in teaching Mandarin;
  • Have the ability to teach Years PP – 6 Chinese (Mandarin);
  • Have the ability to demonstrate high quality interpersonal skills and teaching practices;
  • Hold a current TRBWA registration;
  • Have a good knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum;
  • Have excellent classroom management skills.

LIBRARY MANAGER / LIBRARIAN

The Position's

 

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Library Manager at Geraldton Grammar School to commence in January 2020.

Provision of professional end to end library management and services and the development, delivery, promotion and evaluation of a frontline, customer-focused library and information service that supports the educational goals of the School.

This role has a front line customer service component, which requires excellent communication skills and demonstrated customer service experience.

 

The Candidates

 

The successful candidates will have:

 

  • Relevant (or working towards) qualifications which confers eligibility for membership of ALIA.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing library services and programs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of a range of scholarly information resources and the ability to access these resources regardless of format; and demonstrated knowledge of the processes required to obtain scholarly information resources (e.g. acquisitions) and to provide access to these resources (e.g. indexing, cataloguing).
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate orally and in writing with a wide variety of people and with cross-cultural sensitivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team situation.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work outcomes and prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated computer skills especially with integrated Library Management
  • Systems, database applications and the Microsoft suite of applications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures, and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.
  • Excellent interpersonal with a strong ability to liaise with all levels of School staff and students.
  • Excellent time management, sound administrative and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing demands and priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to develop co-operative and constructive working relationships.
  • Proven experience of working collaboratively with a passionate team of staff to deliver a range of effective learning experiences for all students.
